I am forty-something, mother to one beautiful, spirited girl (my ladybird), wife to my soulmate, daughter to two loving parents still married after more than 50 years, and best friend to two of the most amazing women I could ever know. My day job is as a paralegal with a law firm that specializes in advocating for disabled people and their families. Yes, it’s incredibly rewarding. And I love the people I work with everyday – coworkers and clients alike. But it’s very cerebral. And I long to make pretty things with my hands. I love to cook and bake, I’ve made lots of wedding invitations for friends and family, and I love to entertain. Love. To. Entertain. Any excuse to host a party.

Moment of truth - I’ve never taken a sewing class. I have a few basic skills I learned from my mom when I was ten (i.e. a pillow shaped like the letter “T”) and countless hours on Pinterest and YouTube learning the craft. Fabric is my passion. (My daughter would say it’s my obsession but whatever!) I mean, have you seen what’s out there? It’s amazing. So I found a great pattern and started crafting these zipper bags. Then wristlets. Even some handbags. And totes!Then someone said, “you should sell these!” Hmmmm…..

Some other things you should know about me -
I met my best friend when we were two. We love Bon Jovi. When they tour, we go. By that I mean we get on a plane and fly to another state or another country to see them play. Those are our favorite trips. BFF trips. For Bon Jovi concerts. Then maybe we will also buy tickets to the local venue. But you won’t hear only Bon Jovi playing in the background of my life. I frequently listen to Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains while I’m sewing. Who knew those things could go together so perfectly? How Seattle of me… Speaking of, I’m also a die hard Seahawks fan. My husband and I schedule around their games. Please don't invite us to things on Sunday afternoon unless it involves watching the game. When I was pregnant with my daughter, her due date was February 2, 2008. Super Bowl Sunday. GASP! I cannot be giving birth during the Super Bowl. Such a good girl, she was born the Sunday before, between Conference Championship weekend and Super Bowl weekend. I also like a nice glass of wine on the patio when the sun’s out. Langley on Whidbey Island is my favorite place to get away with my hubby. I love my pup Riley, she’s a Havanese.
